I have just added this olive wood necklace to the store, and I only have one of the faceted maple trio necklaces left. KLOPPER still has a few of the faceted maple pendant necklaces (on the brass chain) left, so if you are after one of those and you’re in Melbourne then that’s the place to go!

Also, the Roll in the Hay and Live in the Moment aromatherapy formulas are in the store again, after having been unavailable for a few months.

Happy Solstice, wherever you are.

These clear quartz points used to be one piece, but my cats were wrestling on the mantle and now they are two. I guess the timing is appropriate as the summer Solstice is regarded as a bountiful time – now I have two pieces where before I had only one.

D and I spent a long weekend on Phillip Island. It’s so beautiful at this time of the year. We spent lots of time walking on the beach. D wore his sneakers everywhere, even on the beach, which seems funny to me. I can’t wait to get my sandals off and bury my toes in the sand, grass, anything.

The natives are still in flower so there were vivid colours everywhere, and the trees sound different on the island. In the city the large, soft leaves of the European trees that line the streets make a gentle sound when the wind blows. The thick, waxy leaves of the eucalypts make a sharper sound.

I really like spending time outside of the city.

We had a quiet weekend around here. I put all of my crystals outside to cleanse and charge in the full (albeit eclipsed) moon and made a new necklace. I also spent some time tending to my new vegetable garden and lots of time in the hammock. I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

I received a little package in the mail from Andrea this week, with one of her stämpel macrame plant hangers, an offcut necklace and a very special Fassett flower vessel (it had flowers in it, but my cats ate them before I could photograph it). I had the pleasure of visiting the wonderland that is Bridget Bodenham’s studio on Saturday for her annual open studio. Bridget was so sweet, her work is incredible and her studio is in a (very awesome) shipping container. It was a great space to be in.

This weekend I had an amazing scrambled tofu breakfast at Harvest Cafe, spent a few hours walking around Daylesford and visited Bridget Bodenham’s studio (I’ll post more about that soon) where I bought myself one of Bridget’s necklaces. We also spent a few hours trawling through records at a second-hand book and record store and found a few gems to take home. I’m listening to this one right now.

Alchemy store update – other minerals

This is the last post as part of my latest store update. These pieces are all made using minerals – amazonite, amazonite with tourmaline, pyrite and tigers eye.

I’m not sure if I have mentioned this before, but all Alchemy pieces are based on jewellery that I have made for myself. Yes – I have quite a collection.

So that’s it! As I said before, don’t hesitate to ask me any questions about anything.

Alchemy store update – wood

I am pretty excited about my new wood pieces. I made more faceted maple necklaces. There are two different types – one with a trio of maple beads on an oxidised brass chain (2 available), the other is a single maple bead on a black leather cord (3 available).

The other wood I have been working with is olive. These two pieces feature 3 and 4 slices of olive wood that shows the amazing natural patterns in this wood. Both are on an oxidised maple chain.

Wood has become my new favourite medium. I am amazed at how surprisingly diverse different woods can look, and how different the wood in a single branch can look depending on how you cut it. The smell and feel of this natural product is so warming. I will definitely be working with this medium more and more in future.

Alchemy store update - quartz

Next up in the store update feature is quartz. These are three different types of quartz – solar quartz, amethyst and smoky quartz. Quartz is believed to be a powerful healer that enhances the metaphysical qualities of other crystals that it is worn with.

Each type of quartz also has its own additional unique qualities - Solar quartz is a rare type of quartz. It is believed to take your energy to the most perfect state possible, making it cleansing and healing.

Amethyst is believed to be balancing and promote emotional centering. It is also thought to dispel anger, fear and anxiety and alleviate sadness and grief.

Smoky quartz is grounding, detoxifying and is great for protecting you from electromagnetic radiation. I always wear smoky quartz when I am around computers and other electrical equipment (so pretty much all the time!).

Alchemy store update – agate

Just letting you know that I have just reopened and updated Alchemy store. There are some new necklaces and the full range of Alchemy Botanicals aromatherapy cream formulas.

These are some of the new agate pieces. Agate is believed to help overcome negativity and anger and foster love and the courage to start again.

I’ve just moved into a new house and am in the process of making it our home. In the past, my home has been very clean and minimal but I am looking to move toward a softer and more ‘homely’ feel. Now I am noticing other bloggers’ homes. I love the soft, neutral tones in Julia’s and Ashley’s homes and Elizabeth’s eclectic plant collection. I have been very inspired by this blog, too.
